Hamptons-Based Restaurant Group Establishes Relief Fund To Aid Laid Off Restaurant Workers

As with many other industries, the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has had a devastating impact on the restaurant industry – one that can be felt throughout the nation.

Honest Man Restaurant Group – which encompasses the Hamptons’ Coche Comedor, La Fondita, Nick & Toni’s, Rowdy Hall, and TownLine BBQ – has established the Honest Man Relief Fund to raise money for their employees who were laid off during this difficult time.

“As a result of the current Coronavirus pandemic we are facing, Honest Man had to lay off over 100 members of our restaurant family,” Mark Smith, Honest Man CEO, noted. “In order to help support our staff who have lost their jobs, we initiated the Honest Man Workers Relief Fund as a vehicle to raise money for our family of employees.”

Customers who order take-out from Coche Comedor, Nick & Toni’s, Rowdy Hall, and TownLine BBQ will have the option to donate to the relief fund in lieu of gratuity.

Coche Comedor (74A Montauk Highway, Amagansett, 631-267-5709, www.cochecomedor.com) is currently featuring a “Coche at Dinner at Home” menu that is available Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Orders can be placed starting at 3 p.m. All orders must be called in first. Curbside pickup will be available at the restaurant.

Nick & Toni’s (136 North Main Street, East Hampton, 631-324-3550, www.nickandtonis.com) has introduced a special at Home menu, which includes 25 percent off wine (by the bottle) and beer, that is available Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 9 p.m. Orders may be placed online at upserve.com or over the phone. Credit card payment is preferred.

Rowdy Hall (10 Main Street in the Parrish Mews, East Hampton, 631-324-8555, www.rowdyhall.com) is presenting a special Dinner at Home menu Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. Orders should be called in and can be placed starting at 3 p.m. Payment by credit card is preferred.

Townline BBQ (3593 Townline Road, Sagaponack, 631-537-2271, www.townlinebbq.com) is offering a special take-out and curbside pickup menu that is available Wednesday through Sunday from 12 to 7 p.m. (or until the ‘Que runs out.)

“Funds will be equally distributed to those of our employees who have lost their jobs and now face uncertainty, loss of income, and fear for the security for their families. We hope this will help them get through this difficult time,” Smith added.
