
On Tuesday, May 19, Good Ground Tavern celebrated a special evening as it unveiled a new chapter in dining with the appointment of Michelin-starred Chef Mathew Woolf as Executive Chef of the historic Canoe Place Inn in Hampton Bays.

The evening kicked off with signature cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres at the Inn’s beautiful pavilion. Chef Mathew prepared exquisite dishes such as seared diver scallops with lobster-crushed potato, lobster sauce, and spinach. The scallops melted in your mouth, and attendees quickly returned for seconds and thirds. Jeff Leblanc provided the perfect soundtrack for the lively evening with an acoustic set of summer classics, including “Dancing in the Moonlight.”
