An album titled Together for Christmas is now available on iTunes. It features the magical voice of one Anthony Nunziata, who co-wrote all of the songs. Anthony Nunziata is a New York City-based singer who is acclaimed internationally for his singing and song writing. In the past Mr. Nunziata has brought his soulful voice to classic jazz and pop standards. He has performed his original music in over 400 concerts over the past few years headlining major performing arts centers and theaters, including a “sold out” Christmas show at Carnegie Hall.
Broadway Worlds critic Stephen Mosher says, “Mr. Nunziata’s collection of eleven original songs, all of which bear a Nunziata writing credit, is a thoroughly satisfying listen, from opening notes to final echoes. With a vibe leaning into music perfect for radio play, the pop album is one that would be easy to listen to all-year-round; were it not for words like “Christmas” and “Santa” and “Evergreen” one might have a difficult time pointing to the compositions with a declarative statement that it is holiday music.”
Then Mosher added, “Together for Christmas possesses a perfect balance between ballads and up-tempo numbers, and those recordings that float somewhere in between the two. Appropriately setting the tone with opener “Christmas Everywhere,” Nunziata captures with intricate detail the feel of the holiday season in New York City, complete with the sounds of chimes and bells, and if you close your eyes and allow Nunziata’s clarion and crystal modern-day vocal stylings to carry you where they will, you might actually have visions of Fifth Avenue dusk as random flurries begin to fill the sapphire sky.”
Mr. Nunziata loves playing tennis in the Hamptons as well as visiting great east end friends. He truly is an everywhere man, jetting all over the globe to perform. The Carnegie Hall Christmas Show that he starred in along with brother Will Nunziata had the historic sold-out venue standing and cheering as one. As he always loves to point out he is “the proud son of parents Joe and Fran Nunziata.”
He opened up to hamptons.com to share his thoughts about Together for Christmas. He said what surprised him the most about putting this effort together was “the entire process that has been such a relaxed and joyful time. Working with my co-producer Justin Wantz has been such a fun journey. I got really lucky. I’ve been able to surround myself with insanely talented people. Justin Wantz, my co-writers Jim Brickman, Maria Christensen, Jeff Franzel, Nina Ossoff, Victoria Shaw, Kathy Sommer, arrangers Eugene Gwozdz and Kathy, co-producer Gian Stone, arranger/background vocalist Marissa Rosen, and background vocalist J.C. Andersen…it takes a team to make something new. And I’ve got an amazing team of artists and creators on this album.”
Mr. Nunziata explained the dynamics of what he believes makes a great Christmas song. He said, “O Holy Night” is my favorite Christmas song. I love all my babies (new Christmas songs) on this album since I co-wrote them all, but right now, I’d say the song “The Greatest Wish” (which I wrote with Jim Brickman and Victoria Shaw) is the song that strikes a special chord with me.”
What makes this new collection of Christmas songs connect is that he presents
“a tapestry of Christmas songs in varying styles and tempos but feel like they are part of a cohesive message of love and joy.”
He finished the interview with these wise words, “Every year I count my blessings for good health, peace and love. Those are the greatest gifts.”
