There is big news from Kidd Squid Brewing Co. this week. They have expanded next door into the space that was the village garden center, and what they’ve done with it is exactly the kind of thing that makes Sag Harbor feel like Sag Harbor.

Let’s start with the part I’m most excited about. There is a brand-new Kidd Squid retail boutique open, and it is packed with the good stuff. Hats, tees, bags, drinkware, all the merch you need to properly rep the brewery around town. I picked up my pink Kidd Squid hat there last week and honestly might need to go back for the rest.

But the boutique is really just one piece of a much bigger story. Gráinne Coen and Rory McEvoy, the couple behind Kidd Squid, took on the expanded lease and turned it into something for the whole community. That says a lot about who they are.
Here’s what’s new. Kidd Squid is now open seven days a week, starting at 10 a.m., and mornings just got a serious upgrade. They’ve partnered with Dreamy Coffee for nitro coffee poured straight off the stout taps, plus iced matcha, with Alpina Swiss Bakery pastries coming very soon. There are pétanque courts built into the old flower beds, because nothing says summer in the Hamptons like a beer in hand and a friendly game of bocce. And they’ve kept the garden spirit alive with a plant partnership with Jackson Dodds, starting with a big delivery of flowering crepe myrtles.

Then there’s the part I love most. Kidd Squid has always been a place that shows up for this village, and this expansion doubles down on that. They’ve shown every single 2026 FIFA World Cup match, so if you wanted to watch with your neighbors instead of alone on your couch, this was the spot.
This is also the same brewery that has quietly been giving local musicians a stage, which is a huge part of why it feels like the heartbeat of the village, not just a place to grab a pint. Gráinne said it best. This is just the beginning. And knowing Kidd Squid, I believe her. Go say hi, grab a nitro coffee, and pick yourself up a cool hat while you’re there.
