Looking for an authentic jeweler who has been in the business for decades? Look no further than Carelle in East Hampton. The handmade jewelry made by Chana Regev, who began her business in the diamond district of New York City decades ago, now has a new home in East Hampton Village. The store is operated by Chana and her son Tomer, who gave me a tour of the store over the holiday.
Literally, everything is handmade and stunning.
The store offers rings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants, and earrings with so many unique designs and an abundance of styles that you can’t help but be impressed. The prices for each piece range from around $600 up to $20,000 with many different pieces falling in between. Because it is privately owned and because you have direct access to the jeweler, Carelle offers one-of-a-kind and rare pieces that can be ordered on a custom-made basis, as well as personalization options to make the jewelry extra special.
Their jewelry is youthful and sophisticated, classic, and modern.
Crafted by hand in New York, Carelle’s sustainable collections blend architectural edge with the stunningly simplistic for a truly modern-meets-masterpiece approach to luxury jewelry. Even in its name, “car elle”—French for “Because of Her”—speaks to the core focus emphasizing the spirit, story, and style of the wearer. Each unique piece is as chic and effortlessly dynamic as the Carelle woman herself and is designed to come alive with every move she makes.

It’s exciting to meet Chana at the store and to really learn about the process of making jewelry, from a design and vision in a notebook to a reality on your wrist or finger. It adds power to the jewelry that you simply cannot ignore.
For a totally unique jewelry shopping experience from an individual jeweler who has been making beautiful work for decades, Carelle should be added to your list of shopping options in the Hamptons.
