Eighth grade students from Montauk Middle School will show the East End community the power of the written language during WORD UP! A Middle School Celebration Of Poetry.

The upcoming Sag Harbor screening will focus on iconic comedians and include rare footage featuring Abbott & Costello, Phyliss Diller, George Carlin, and more.

"Centered on seventeen dancers auditioning for spots on a chorus line, the musical is set on the bare stage of a Broadway theater during an audition for a musical," noted Michael Disher, Director of the Southampton Cultural Center adaptation.

"You'd see all these people coming from their East Hampton fancy houses stuck on 27 and then there'd be people punching each other in the middle of a beautiful sunny afternoon," comedian Colin Quinn noted about one of his favorite Hamptons places.

"The audience gets exposed to a kind of humor they're not used to," noted All Star Comedy Show host Joseph Vecsey. "It's always fun seeing people's reactions."

The East Hampton Film Society, the Hamptons' first premier film club, is getting ready to shine a spotlight on cinematic classics during a film series at Guild Hall.

Following a vigorous screening process, Choral Society of the Hamptons has revealed the four South Fork high school seniors that they have chosen as the 2014 recipients of their annual scholarships for voice training.
