The iconic Sag Harbor Cinema was torn down today as a result of a massive fire that blazed through the roof of the theatre and damaged surrounding businesses as well. Built in 1930, Friday's fire proved too much for the old girl. A saddened community will remember the familiar structure with fondness.

The New York Junior League (NYJL) hosted a Leadership Council Event at Astor House in Manhattan. Prominent philanthropist and author, Jean Shafiroff, served as the event's featured keynote speaker. Willie Geist, of Today Show and Morning Joe, hosted Volunteers of America-Greater New York's Winter's Eve Gala at The Plaza Grand Ballroom in Manhattan. The evening raised over $700,000, which will support more than 90 life-changing social service programs that help tens of thousands or people and families in need in the Greater New York area every year.
