Idris Elba takes on the role of the iconic Nelson Mandela in "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom." The New York premiere at Lincoln Center brought out Zindzi Mandela, Idris Elba, Ashanti, Victor Cruz, Terry Pheto, Rosario Dawson, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, and Naomie Harris.

The African Environmental Film Foundation’s short documentary, "White Gold," premiered at MoMA. Narrated by Hillary Clinton, the film shows the ugly reality of the modern day ivory trade and its repercussions for elephants.
