The Humane Society of the United States’ 2020 To the Rescue! virtual gala raised over 2 million dollars in support of the organization’s animal rescue efforts. “Saturday Night Live” cast member Cecily Strong hosted the event, which included a performance from Tony, Grammy and Emmy award-winning singer and actor Audra McDonald – who hosted the pre-show. To the Rescue! also included guest appearances from Liev Schreiber, Mena Suvari, Rob and Marisol Thomas, Nathan Turner, Dylan Lauren, Katie Sturino, gala chair Georgina Bloomberg and Kitty Block, president and CEO of the Humane Society of the United States.
