The authentic Mexican street food spot has been serving up tacos in the Hamptons for over 20 years! La Fondita, which means “little kitchen” in Spanish, offers tasty Mexican to go or to stay at their indoor counter or at their outdoor picnic tables. Mexican tiled counters dotted with a line of homemade salsas and tabascos and hanging star-shaped lights and colorful Mexican wall décor all add to the fun and casual atmosphere at La Fondita. You’ll swear you’re in Mexico as the sound of authentic Mexican music fills the air and the aromas of sizzling meats drift from the open kitchen.
Tacos ($3.50 each or 5 for $14) are the most popular item, with various options for fillings such as chicken, shredded beef, roasted pork, and chorizo served on handmade fresh corn tortillas topped with chopped onions and cilantro. And for vegetarians tacos are filled with refried beans, rice and queso fresco. Seafood lover? There are options for you too! The taco de pescado, a Baja style fish taco served with chipotle mayo and shredded cabbage ($4.50) and the tacos de camarones ($8.75), two shrimp tacos with corn, sliced red peppers, jalapenos, cilantro, onion & avocado. Additionally, on National Taco Day, Monday, October 4th a special taco will be available: tacos de carne asada ($14) featuring grilled steak, grilled onions & jalapenos and radishes, 3 per order. Pair your tacos with one of La Fondita’s housemade aguas frescas such as watermelon, tamarind, Jamaica or lime.
