With Halloween only a few weeks away, get in the holiday spirit during Ghost Hunting at 1648 Farm. The Hamptons adult workshop which is hosted by Southampton Halsey House, will take place on Saturday, October 19, at 4 p.m.
The Halsey House was built in 1666 by Thomas Halsey, Jr., after his father established a farm on the property in 1648. For generations, it housed members of the Halsey family and before the English arrival, the plot was used as a planting field by the Shinnecock Tribe.
Ghost Detectives Oliver and Colleen Peterson will take attendees along on a real ghost hunt as well as give a hands-on demonstration of the tools of the “trade” during a discussion about the pair’s experiences.
Tickets are $18 per person and limited to 20 adults. Participants should bring outdoor clothing.
The Thomas Halsey Homestead is located at 249 South Main Street in Southampton. For more information and to purchase tickets call 631-283-2494 or visit www.southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org.
