Women’s Basketball Team Visits Kids At Stony Brook University Cancer Center

The Stony Brook University Women’s Basketball Team took a break from practicing at the Pritchard Gymnasium for a very special visit to the Stony Brook Cancer Center. Just two days before their Holiday Classic against Monmouth, the Seawolves gave young fans battling cancer a holiday surprise thanks to the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital Child Life Program.

On Thursday, December 19, SBU team members joined young patients for some playtime off the court. They also decorated a ‘Happy Holidays’ banner, shot some hoops and left the children with an extra special treat; presents and tee-shirts. The visit with the pediatric patients was a slam dunk. The Seawolves left the smiling children feeling the holiday spirit.
