On Sunday, June 26th, Project MOST is presenting its annual Eileen’s Angels Art and Tree Auction, in honor of garden champion Eileen Roaman. From 6 to 9 p.m., join the East Hampton-based after school program as they support the Springs Seedlings program with an evening of art, music by Inda Eaton, bites, sips and entertainment at The Secret Garden at Landscape Details. Dwyer and Michael Derring and Joe Realmuto will serve as the events’s hosts.
“Eileen was a force that made it happen. And it is still happening,” said Joe Realmuto, partner and Executive Chef at Honest Man Restaurant Group, who founded the event with David Lys. “We have sustained her wishes and have grown this garden and greenhouse into a curriculum that has become the fabric of our children’s lives.”
Springs Seedling – a program offered through Project MOST – is an after school learning experience for children in grades kindergarten through eighth, interested in gardening. In an effort to inspire these children to participate in the maintenance of a greenhouse, they are responsible for upkeep of the school’s garden.
“Eileen wanted a garden classroom for the children of East Hampton and her enthusiasm was contagious, seven years later the garden has grown into an education platform that includes a summer camp,” added Realmuto.
The Eileen’s Angels Art and Tree Auction will include a live auction with proceeds benefiting The Springs Seedlings.
