The Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill is inviting families to enjoy engaging hands-on art with established, practicing artists, a silent auction, a thrilling gallery scavenger hunt, and other entertaining family-friendly activities during the Parrish’s 4th annual Summer Family Party.
“The Summer Family Party activities further the Museum’s mission to foster connections among the community, art, and artists of many disciplines,” explained Parrish Director Terrie Sultan. “Many of the visual artists leading the inspiring workshops—established, working practitioners in a variety of media—have a long relationship with the Parrish–Anne Bae and Paton Miller are represented in the Parrish collection.”
Taking place on the Museum’s lawn from 3 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, attendees can participate in a myriad of art workshops, as well as other creative activities such as bag decorating, docent-led tours, lawn games and flipbook making. Artist Anne Bae will lead workshops on paper flower making, Brian Farrell will be creating a collaborative mural, Sheree Hovespian will be teaching the art of sun prints, Lynn Leff will be creating pinch pots, Paton Miller will give drawing and mini-charcoal lessons, and Liz Sloan will be working with collage. There will also be a barbeque dinner catered by the Golden Pear.
