East End autumn festivals will be in full swing over Columbus Day weekend. If you happen to be in the Hampton Bays area on Saturday, don’t forget to stop by St. Mary’s Episcopal Church who is presenting its Second Annual Fall Festival.
“The Fall Festival at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church begins with a Blessing of the Animals on St. Mary’s Great Lawn,” noted Mary Castro. The 20 minute service starts at 11:30 a.m. and all are welcome to bring an animal – either living or stuffed – to be blessed for all the blessings they provide year round.
From 12 to 5 p.m., all ages will relish in festive seasonal happenings, including miniature pony cart rides, a pumpkin patch, where you can choose and decorate your own pumpkin, games for kids, beautiful mums will be available for purchase, as will baked goods, food and beverage, and local vendors will present artisanal goods.
“It’s fun for the whole family!” Castro shared.
While as of the moment it looks like it’ll be perfect festival weather, St. Mary’s has a backup plan in case Mother Nature decides not to cooperate. “If it rains, the event will be held indoors,” Castro explained. “Come one, come all!”
St. Mary’s Episcopal Church is located at 165 Ponquogue Avenue in Hampton Bays. For more information, call 631-728-0776 or visit www.stmaryshb.org.
