Leave Your Legacy At South Fork Natural History Museum

South Fork Natural History Museum (SoFo) is giving you the opportunity to leave a legacy in Bridgehampton. To mark the fall season, SoFo is offering the opportunity to sponsor four engraved bricks on the “Legacy Trail” Walkway for $1,500. A $500 donation to this year’s Annual Appeal entitles you to name one brick, or two for $900. Honor someone special in your life with this meaningful opportunity all while helping SoFo meet their 2017 Annual Appeal goal of $200,000.

“We are very happy to offer our supporters the opportunity to join us as we build SoFo’s legacy by purchasing an engraved brick on our Legacy Trail Walkway as part of our 2017 Annual Appeal,” said Diana Aceti, Director of Development at the South Fork Natural History Museum. “This is a very special way to celebrate our children, our grandparents and special friends.”

SoFo is a privately funded non-profit institution that relies on the generosity of the community and visitors to meet the substantial annual costs of maintaining its standard of excellence as the only state-of-the-art natural history museum for children and adults on the South Fork of Long Island. SoFo is increasing its educational programming to serve the growing family members and visitors. They are launching Climate Change seminars and other environmental programs, upgrading its innovative, interactive habitat exhibits, and developing alliances with local and national nature conservation organizations.

The donations to SoFo are tax-deductible and can come to life in several ways. For $500 you can name a brick on the outdoor Legacy Trail and help feed the animals a complex healthy diet for three months. By donating $1,000, your gift will cover heat lamps, lighting, and filtration needs for SoFo’s live animal exhibits for six months. A $5,000 donation will enable SoFo to purchase three new spotting scopes for the observation deck allowing visitors spectacular views of wildlife. $10,000 will cover costs for educational program supplies, including stereomicroscopes, compound microscopes, bionoculars, weather station, trail cameras, and science/technology kits for school group visits and general programming. Any donations from $25,000 to $100,000 will help name a program or exhibit of your choice, as well as contribute to the Touch Tank or new environmental and nature science educational programs such as the Shark Conservation Tracking Kiosk.
