Quogue Library Hosting Snowman Stroll Around The Pond – Complete With Movie And Hot Cocoa At The Firehouse

The weather is getting colder and Quogue Library is embracing the season with their first annual Quogue Library Snowman Stroll displayed along Jessup Avenue through February 3, 2020.

Earlier in December, Quogue Library patrons were invited to participate in decorating a wooden snowman template provided by the Library, customize it and return it to the library. Today, those whimsical winter creations are lined around the village pond, located on the corner of Jessup Avenue and Midland Street.

“This past October, the library hosted its first annual scarecrow contest and received such positive feedback that we knew we had to offer the Quogue community another opportunity to showcase their creativity and love for the town,” Susan Mckenna, Director of Operations at Quogue Library, explained.

A total of thirteen snowman templates were decorated and although it’s not a contest, the community responded with enthusiasm. The point of the Snowman Stroll is to enjoy the holiday spirit and add delight to the community.

“With Jessup Pond offering a beautiful winter scene, it is the perfect backdrop for the display,” Mckenna noted. “The snowmen bring life and whimsy to our quiet village this time of year, people young and old have stopped to take photos and stroll along to enjoy the views.”

Quogue Library will celebration the seasonal artwork by hosting a community-wide “Snowman Stroll” on Sunday, December 22 at 2 p.m. The leisurely stroll will be followed by hot chocolate and a movie at the Quogue Firehouse (117 Jessup Avenue, Quogue).
