A weekend’s worth of fun for an amazing cause – Katy’s Courage – is taking place on Saturday, February 29 and Sunday, March 1.
“We’re so excited for the Weekend of Events for a Great Cause!” Katy’s Courage Co-Founders Brigid Collins and Jim Stewart expressed.

From 7 to 11 p.m. bites and sips from more than 20 beloved chefs and restaurants will be showcased. There will also be tunes by DJ Michael of East End Entertainment, an exciting silent auction, Golfer’s Ultimate Dream Raffle, and more.
“Love Bites is always a great way to kick-off Katy’s Courage event season and we’re thrilled that the Skate-a-Thon will be the next day,” Collins and Stewart shared.
Featured eateries, caterers and chefs will include Events by Peter Ambrose, A Kitchen for Liam, Art of Eating. Bell & Anchor, Bostwicks, Von Salad Farms, The Clubhouse, Coche Comedor, Elegant Affairs, Golden Pear Café, Grace & Grit, Green Hill Kitchen, The Mill House, Peconic Gold Oysters, Saaz, Smokin Wolf BBQ, Silver Spoon Specialties, Dressen’s Donuts, Hampton Coffee Company, Jerri’s Cakery and Confections, Sag Harbor Baking Company, Diplomatico Rum, Montauk Brewing Company, and Cellier Wines Distributing.
Then, on Sunday, March 1, the action will move outside to Buckskill Winter Club (178 Buckskill Road, East Hampton) for the ninth annual Skate-a-Thon. The gathering will commence with a Learn to Skate Class from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., a Public Skating will follow from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. The Puck Throw will take place at 3 p.m., and then attendees will be dazzled when the Ice Show is presented from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Skate-A-Thon participants will take to the ice from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. There will be a brief break at 6 p.m. to announce raffle winners, and then the highly anticipated Hockey Game will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be an all day bake sale.
“We’re expecting a great turn out and always love seeing our community come together for such a great cause,” the duo added.
Tickets for Love Bites are $75. Pre-registration for the hockey game is required and participants may register at Buckskill Winter Club or by calling the rink directly at 631-324-2243. The admission fee for the hockey game is $30 per person.
Proceeds from both benefits will support Katy’s Courage, a Sag Harbor-based organization founded in honor of Katy Stewart, an inspirational 12-year-old girl who died from a rare form of pediatric liver cancer. The not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization is dedicated to championing education, children’s bereavement support and pediatric cancer research.
