The Hamptons has been the inspiration for many things – home decor, works of art, garden styles, movies, clothes and fashion. Now, luxury designer Jeff Wan has created a line of high end backpacks, totes, duffle bags and accessories in the spirit of the Hamptons. A fashion designer and creative director based in New York City, Jeff hails from the island nation of Mauritius. His design sensibility bridges the gap between his island roots and his home in New York City. After studying industrial design at Pratt Institute, Jeff worked for several high end fashion brands – Diesel, DKNY, Kenneth Cole, Michael Kors and Coach. In 2018 he established his own luxury fashion company.
Currently the company focuses on small leather goods and handbags animated with the colors of Mauritius and made for urban minimalists. The summer 2023 Hampton line includes backpacks, totes, duffle bags and accessories.
Here’s how Jeff came up with the ideas for the Hampton line of products. “After spending time with friends in the Hamptons over the last 3 years and working on renovating two houses out east, I was inspired by the dunes and the days on the beaches of the Hamptons. With weekend trips here and there, came the Hampton Duffle, Backpack, Tote and small leather goods. Everything you need for a perfect weekend getaway out east!”
The Hampton Backpack and Hampton Duffle come in Nwar (black) and Coco (brown). The Hampton Tote, with an image of a pineapple, is available in Rose, Coco, Nwar, Mimosa (yellow), Ver (green) and rainbow colorblock which features a golden pineapple on blue background, along with green closure band and red handle.
The line also includes accessories – belts, wallets, air pods pro case with clip, key rings, including a Hampton Loop key ring in eight different colors, and a zip card case in several colors.
