On Thursday, June 23rd at 4pm join representatives from the East End Fund for Children, local officials and Citarella owner Joe Gurrera at the gourmet market’s Bridgehampton location (2209 Montauk Highway, Bridgehampton, NY 11932) as they announce year 2 of this innovative fundraising initiative. This year they will be celebrating their commitment to the East End with a commemorative garden devoted to local children and lined with painted rocks by the children of the seven member organizations depicting what they love about living on the East End.
Citarella and the East End Fund for Children are excited to announce this summer’s Fundraising campaign that will take place from June 23 through Labor Day weekend. Shoppers at each of the gourmet markets three Hamptons’ locations will be encouraged to donate to the Fund at the time of their purchase. The stores have planned a variety of support around the fundraiser that will be announced at the conference.
“We are proud to expand our partnership with the East End Fund for Children,” said Joe Gurrera, owner of Citarella. “Citarella has a history of giving back to our community through organizations with shared values and we’re fully committed to supporting the EEFC’s mission of providing essential food and educational programming to our most vulnerable children living in the East End.”
“The East End Fund for Children was the brainchild of Dan Shedrick. The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational was honored to be invited to be one of the organizations involved in the initial planning stages. Conceived out of the extreme need created by the pandemic, we are so happy that the coalition of seven not for profits serving East End children continues. Thank you Citarella for caring about giving locally and for proving that we are stronger together!” -Bonnie Michelle Cannon, Executive Director BHCCRC
Tim Frazier, Executive Director, Eleanor Whitmore Early Childhood Center said “Citarella’s commitment to the East End Fund for Children coalition has impacted the community in myriad ways. In addition to increasing our individual capacity, they have cemented a more synergistic way for nonprofits to work together. We are so grateful to the dedication of Joe and Yusi and the remarkable people from the stores who make this partnership work.”
“The Retreat is so grateful to Citarella for its tremendous support of services for children on the East End. At this moment, children need services more than ever and they need to feel safe.” said Loretta Davis, Executive Director, The Retreat.
“CMEE is deeply honored to partner with Citarella – funds raised will be divided evenly between the seven non-profits that make up the Fund – providing vital support for local families. None of this would be possible without the steadfast support of Citarella” said Lara Sweeney, Co-President, Children’s Museum of the East End.
