New Paintings by Christopher Engel

Another Memory of Language brings together a remarkable collection of abstract and figurative paintings by Christopher Engel, revealing two complementary pathways into this timeless source of wisdom.

Engel’s abstract works explore the living intelligence of the natural world. Through layered color, gestural mark-making, rhythmic patterns, and calligraphic forms, the paintings evoke the language of landscapes; not as representations of place, but as expressions of the unseen energies that animate the earth. The sky, oceans, forests, rain, seasons, and stars become living conversations, revealing patterns that resemble maps, musical scores, poems, and forgotten alphabets. These works suggest that nature is constantly communicating with us, if only we are willing to slow down and listen.

Montauk General Store Puts Down Roots, One Matcha Latte at a Time

There’s a stop on my Montauk map, and it might be my new favorite.

Montauk General Store just opened its first permanent storefront at 805 Montauk Highway, and walking in felt like stepping into a memory I didn’t know I had. Think ’80s Malibu surf shack meets midcentury design, driftwood textures, stainless steel finishes, and vintage coastal Americana all layered together in the most effortless way.

Where Fine Jewelry Meets Everyday Joy with Stephanie Gottlieb

The designs themselves are intentionally versatile, and the personal part comes from the person wearing it. Some clients customize a piece, some choose a meaningful gemstone or charm, and others simply make it their signature. I love creating jewelry that gives people the opportunity to make it their own.

AVP League Returns to the Hamptons for Its Seventh Stop of the Season

This weekend, the Association of Volleyball Professionals (AVP) will return to East Hampton for its seventh stop of the 2026 AVP League season. The world’s best professional beach volleyball players, including Olympians and AVP stars, will face off at EHP Resort & Marina (295 Three Mile Harbor Hog Creek Road, East Hampton), where approximately 300 tons of sand were trucked in to create a court worthy of the world’s best athletes, overlooking the marina.
