The Riverhead Project (a New York Times recommended restaurant located, of course, in Riverhead) recently announced the launch of a new weekly event. The BeerProject, presented by the restaurant’s head Beermeister Terrance Daly, launched on August 7, and will be held every Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. Each night will feature a different beer-related event, with the themes rotating over the course of the month.
On the first Wednesday of every month, the BeerProject will host the BeerDinner. Guests will be served a family-style, multi-course menu as created by head chef Lia Fallon. The meal will be served with various craft beers specifically selected to be paired with that evening’s menu. The first dinner, held on August 7, featured beer from Rocky Point Artisanal Brewery, while Trappist Beers and Weinhenstephaner will host the next two events. The price for attending a BeerDinner is $40 per person (not including tax and gratuity.)
On the second Wednesday of the month, Beermeister Terrance Daly will be hosting an education “Beer School” session. These evenings will give guests the opportunity to sample beers and sit in on informative mini-lectures presented by Daly. “Kegger Wednesday” will be held on the third Wednesday. As the title implies, the evening will feature kegs provided by different local breweries. Southampton Publick House, the Barrier Brewing Company and Greenport Harbor Brewing will supply beer for August, September, and October respectively. Every beer will be $1. On the fourth Wednesday of the month, Beermeister Daly and chef Fallon will collaborate to present guests with various appetizers paired with handpicked brews.
