East Hampton will be getting an infusion of fresh Italian flavor this fall, as Dopo La Spiaggia, which means “After the Beach” in Italian, opens its second location.
Restaurateurs Larry and Maria Baum will launch the second and larger location of their popular restaurant at 31 Race Lane in East Hampton. Debuting in October 2016, the 3,000 square foot space will feature 136 seats, versus the 50 seats available at the Sag Harbor eatery, making it easier than ever for patrons to get coveted reservations at the new indoor fireplace or outdoor seating area.
“Demand at Dopo La Spiaggia in Sag Harbor has been so overwhelming that we really needed a second spot farther east to be able to accommodate our loyal customers,” explained owner Larry Baum.
In addition to the new seating and increased availability, Chef Marfoglia will be offering southern Italian style cooking with locally sourced signature dishes and new specialty items on the menu.
Although some dishes will carry over to the East Hampton location, such as menu favorites like the Cavolini (shaved Brussels sprout Caesar with toasted pine nuts; $24), Crudo (fresh-off-the-boat scallop with caviar, sea beans and lemon; $25), Tagliolini (Bay scallops, shrimp, calamari, imported Calabrian chilies and tomato; $29) and Ippoglossio (pan-seared halibut, faro, purple kale and chanterelle mushrooms; $34).
Unlike at the Sag Harbor location, the East Hampton space will accept same-day reservations, making it easier than ever for foodies to get their hands on the delicious food that Chef Maurizio Marfoglia will be preparing.
