The ice cream taco trend has officially hit the Hamptons!
Rachel Flatley, pastry chef of the Honest Man Restaurant Group, recently created a homemade Choco Taco, similar to the ones we all enjoyed as a child. Sold at the famous Dominique Ansel Kitchen, they will now be available at Townline BBQ in Sagaponack.
Flatley makes them with a waffle cone batter, shapes them into a taco, dips them in chocolate, and fills them with vanilla ice cream. The flavors rotate and she is currently serving them with white chocolate raspberry ice cream – yum!
“I love the versatility of it by being able to create any flavor combination and use fresh-in season ingredients,” Flatley explains. “It’s a great snack for both kids and adults – I actually think adults enjoy them more, and are able to appreciate the artisan value of it as well.”
The flavor options vary as seasonal availability changes. “I love the idea of being inspired by the seasons – making mint ice cream with fresh mint from our garden, or doing a raspberry swirl taco with local raspberries,” she added. “I think this is what makes this dessert special and unique.”
