On Sunday, July 30, attendees of the 13th annual Chefs Dinner at Hayground School are in for a culinary treat.
Chefs Tom Colicchio and Éric Ripert, and Toni Ross of Nick & Toni’s in East Hampton are teaming up to host the farm-to-table benefit dinner for Hayground School and Jeff’s Kitchen.
“I can’t stress enough the importance of Hayground School for the children of the East End,” shared Chef Ripert. “It brings so much life to the community and to the children who reap its benefits.”
To create the perfect meal, and confirm the title of “Best Meal in the Hamptons,” Hayground selects an exclusive and diverse team of chefs to concoct the highest standard of cuisine. The 13 chefs joining the team this year are Claudia Fleming, Roger Martinez, Marc Meyer, Christian Mir, Garrison Price, Joseph Realmuto, Hillary Sterling, Jason Weiner, Trevor Swope, Josh Capon, Arjun Achuthan, Andrew Corrigan and Ayesha Nurdija,
The chefs will work together to create the epitome of a culinary masterpiece. The event is intimate and limited to 150 guests, and always sells out.

In addition to the elaborately prepared meal, there will be a live auction with an included tasting menu and chef selected wine pairings. The event will also fête two honorees: Executive Chef of Oceana Bill Telepan, who is an activist the non-profit Wellness in Schools, and Tinka D. Topping, a founding member of Hayground.
“In founding Hayground, we had several goals: to break down the out of date lock-step definition of an age bound classroom, to produce a model of what any elementary school should be in terms of its population—diverse in race, class, ethnicity, available to all—and to remove a hierarchical structure in which a director is the captain of the ship in favor of a horizontal model in which the teachers design the program with their interests and passions forming how their classes will emerge,” explained Topping. “We learned a lot, and are still learning how to be a more creative, intellectual, and exciting place for kids to learn, that survives in this increasingly complex and difficult world.”
Tickets to the 13th annual Chefs Dinner are $1,200. The Chefs Dinner, the only fundraiser for the Hayground School, helps to offer financial aid to over 80 percent of the student body.
Hayground School is located at 151 Mitchell Lane in Bridgehampton. For more information, visit www.haygroundchefsdinner.org.
