Project MOST is hosting their annual Empty Bowls event on Sunday, March 4 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in Amagansett. Local chefs and restaurants will rally together to offer delicious soups for the afternoon. This year the Wellness Foundation has joined as the nutrition partner. There will also be a selection of nutritious W soup options available.
“The Empty Bowls Event is truly a demonstration of the strong support Project MOST receives from the East End business community year after year,” said Executive Director, Rebecca Morgan Taylor. “We have over 30 local restaurants and chefs who gather together each year to show their support for our students! We cannot thank them enough for their time and their enthusiasm.”
This year will be a bit different with the first Empty Bowl Awards for Community Service – which will be awarded to East Hampton Town Board Councilwoman, Kathee Burke Gonzalez, and East Hampton Town Supervisor, Peter Van Scoyoc, for their continued support and understanding of the importance of after school programs in East Hampton.

Project MOST’s New York State funding is in the process of being eliminated. The community’s participation in this event will help to continue serving the children and families of East Hampton with high quality after school enrichment programs.
In addition to the soup, there will be donuts by Dreesen’s and ices by Kona Ice. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $15 per adult and $5 for children 13 and under. Children under five are free. You can also take the delicious soup to go in a quart size for $15.
“This is a great day of family, fun and of course delicious soup! Bring your bowl and your enthusiasm for East Hampton after school,” said Taylor.
Project MOST serves 350 students in the Town of East Hampton Monday through Friday throughout the school year. The non-profit organization holds an after school program at both the John M. Marshall Elementary School and the Springs School – where children have access to a variety of enrichment programming.
