Chef Flynn McGarry of Gem NYC will host a pop-up brunch at The Maidstone in East Hampton on Sunday, August 26.

On this special, one day only event, held in celebration of McGarry’s documentary Chef Flynn screening as the final Hamptons International Film Festival SummerDocs of the season, Chef McGarry will collaborate with house chef Ian Lowell Lichtenstein to create a five course brunch. Chef Flynn will screen at Guild Hall on Saturday August, 25 during a viewing hosted by Alec Baldwin and Hamptons International Film Festival Artistic Director David Nugent.
“I’m really excited about the premiere of Chef Flynn on Saturday night and the collab brunch at The Maidstone on Sunday,” Chef McGarry shared.
The brunch will begin with a Popover with cultured butter, followed by a Cabbage Salad with pine nut vinaigrette, dressed grains, citrus and sprouts. The third course will be a Summer Squash Toast with ricotta, peaches and mint. Fried and Smashed Potatoes with hollandaise, cured salmon and a poached egg will make up the fourth course and a Chamomile Pana Cotta with raspberries will finish up the meal.
Chef Flynn follows McGarry’s extraordinary culinary journey, beginning at age 12 where he began cooking elaborate dishes and hosting supper clubs in his mother’s house up to working alongside some of the best chefs – including Daniel Boulud and Daniel Humm.
At just 19-years-old, he is the head chef at Gem in New York City’s Lower East Side, which recently earned a two star review from TheNew York Times critic Pete Wells.
Seatings will take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the five-course meal is $65 per person, which does not include beverages, tax or gratuity. Seats are limited and reservations are highly recommended. To reserve a spot, email [email protected].
