Whether you are a sushi connoisseur or a first-timer, Sushi by Boū will be the most incredible sushi experience you will ever have. I’m serious, this is my go-to sushi spot, located on the second floor of Sydney’s “Taylor” Made Cuisine in Westhampton Beach.
Pulling up to a closed, lights-out, chairs-up Sydney’s was a bit confusing—and immediately exuded speakeasy vibes. Friendships quickly formed with fellow sushi lovers as we teamed up to locate the entrance. A hidden side door with a Ring camera and a riddle stood between us and the experience—once answered, it buzzed open to reveal a beautifully lit staircase. At the top, an intimate, coastal-themed space revealed itself, featuring a sushi counter and a separate, stylish seating area.
We were quickly handed a cocktail menu and escorted to the chic seating area on the side. The Elderflower Sour was refreshing and was the perfect way to kick off the night.

Once all ten were seated, a private chef welcomed us with a round of sake. In 75 minutes, we embarked on a 12-course edomae-style omakase journey. It was captivating to see the chef prepare dish after dish with such skill, precision, and attention to detail. It was a show like no other.
Signature courses include Hamachi (yellowtail), Akami (lean bluefin tuna), Botan Ebi (spotted prawn), Ikura (salmon roe), Bincho (albacore), Maguro (chopped tuna), Hotate (scallop), Gindara (miso black cod), Toro (fatty tuna), Wagyuni (surf n’ turf), Sake (salmon), and Unagi (BBQ eel). The omakase experience is a steal, priced at $75 per guest and includes a round of sake.

Standouts were the Wagyuni (suf n’ turf) and the Unahi (BBQ eel) courses.
Back by popular demand, the Westhampton Beach outpost will again offer multiple omakase tiers: Signature, Bougie, and the newly introduced Bou Reserve, which brings an added level of luxury for those looking to elevate their night out. Bou Reserve, making its Westhampton Beach debut, features refined courses and specialty offerings designed for celebratory summer evenings. Caviar bumps, anyone?
I highly recommend the Boū-gie upgrade, which features four additional market-fresh seasonal courses—enhancing the experience with even more variety.

Guests can arrive early or linger after their omakase at the Hampton Water Rosé Garden, marked by greenery and roses, and choose three featured Hampton Water Rosés. A small selection of desserts is also available for those who’d like to end their experience on a sweet note.
Sushi by Boū Westhampton features 10 seats in an intimate space with a coastal-chic vibe. Reservations will be available on OpenTable.
