Carissa’s The Bakery in East Hampton is reopening for the season just in time to scoop up some sinfully delicious Valentine’s Day sweets.
“I’m particularly excited to reopen while it’s still winter and a lovely time to celebrate what this season allows us to indulge in most, like hot chocolate, warming soups, comforting breads and pastries,” Founder Carissa Waechter noted.
The reopening – taking place on Thursday, February 14 – will boast Carissa’s beloved signature pickled rye loaves – which has a cult following, breads, sandwiches, and pastries, as well as several special holiday inspired creations, including raspberry & rose water croissants, ayer cakes, tartlets, hand-painted and heart-shaped macarons, pink beet & barley boules and cayenne & cinnamon stick hot chocolate that will be available through Valentine’s Day weekend.
“As for our offerings, I’m really charged about the Rosewater Meringue Pavlova with Dragonfruit, Strawberries + House Made Orange Marmalade,” Waechter said. “This treat respects the seasonality of winter citrus, and the holiday is a nice excuse to add rosewater + fresh strawberries as components that wouldn’t normally be used in the middle of February. The meringue is so nice and light and dragonfruit just looks and sounds sexy.”
