In lieu of the Halsey House Gala’s cancellation due to COVID-19, the Southampton History Museum in Southampton is offering a new seasonal benefit, Halsey House Summer Supper Basket, on Saturday, August 8. This summer, the staff and board members curated a take-home charcuterie picnic that will help support the Museum and its mission of preserving the history and culture of Southampton by engaging diverse audiences in a shared heritage.
“This year has been extraordinary for the Southampton History Museum. We’ve learned to adapt our wide-ranging programs into outdoor and electronic formats. To pay the bills we are taking imaginative steps to such as this picnic basket benefit following all NYS health and safety requirements,” Tom Edmonds, Director of the Museum, relayed.
Each full service basket will offer over 16 hand-picked and pre-packaged items – including a local cheese from Mecox Farms in Water Mill, a variety of dried fruits, Carr’s crackers, McVities biscuits, Tate’s cookies, hummus, chips, assorted nuts, olives, a bottle of chilled wine and other delicacies. There are baskets for two, four and six people available for purchase online. There are also sponsorship baskets available for purchase with your name listed on promotional material, a copy of House of the Hamptons by Gary Lawrence and Anne Surchin and other perks.
The first 30 people who RSVP will receive a complimentary picnic dinner at Claude’s restaurant, located at 91 Hill Street in Southampton, NY on Saturday, August 8 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Picnic-goers are invited to reserve a spot on the lawn to enjoy their Summer Supper Basket alongside Claude’s 3-piece Southampton fried chicken, Rosa’s potato salad, home-made coleslaw, local pickles, watermelon and home-baked cookies.
