If you love an extravagant holiday display, you’re not going to want to miss Wölffer Estate Vineyard’s – who really went all out decking the halls. We caught up with Joey Wölffer, Wölffer Estate Vineyard co-owner, about this year’s eye-catching festive decor, which will be on display until January 6.

You kicked off the season with the beloved Lighting of the Vines. What other festivities does Wölffer have planned for the holidays?

JW: We started our holiday season with Lighting of the Vines; 22 rows of vines behind the winery and trees surrounding the drive of the vineyard are illuminated with 1500 LED lights, covering the property in holiday warmth. We will continue with a special holiday celebration December 22nd in our tasting room featuring live music, floral arrangement class, special cocktails and menu offering, and brandy tastings throughout the season. Then we will host a Boxing Day party on December 26th In our tasting room with live music and great prizes for the holiday raffle we have been running. And lastly on December 31st the tasting room will stay open and festive until 8pm and offer special pricing on the vineyards Noblesse.

The Christmas spectacular at the Tasting Room is quite the sight! What was the design inspiration?

JW: Growing up our father loved Christmas, so celebrating the holiday season and Christmas is very much a part of our family and the way in which Marc and I spent our youth. This is forever an inspiration to us to as we have always decorated the property but this year we wanted to take it to the next level and transform the tasting room. We wanted to fill the space with color, light and warmth and hope our guests walk in and are immediately dazzled.

What are some of your favorite East End holiday traditions?

JW: The Lighting of the Vines and decorating the Tasting Room, of course!

Are there any special seasonal sips available?

JW: We have a new brandy and we will be doing tastings every Saturday throughout the holiday season. We also have great cider – our red cider is a holiday favorite, light and festive. And lastly we have mulled wine at the Tasting Room and a special seasonal cocktail at our Kitchen locations.

With the holidays here, what pairings would you recommend?

JW: We’d recommend the Wolffer Sparking Noblesse Oblige which makes the perfect toast for midnight and pairs amazingly with hors d’oeuvres.

Wölffer Estate Vineyard is located at 139 Sagg Road in Sagaponack. For more information, visit www.wolffer.com.
