One of the biggest style events of the year is this weekend, the Oscars. Which celebs will be on the best dressed list, you will have to wait till Monday to find out but here are a few trends we think will be huge at the Oscars.
Black: Always a safe option and a fallback for many women. The high-low detail of the Narciso Rodriguez dress which would be a good match for “Les Misérables” Anne Hathaway, adds a sophisticated twist to a trend that can lack imagination.
Embellishment: This was a huge trend at both the Golden Globes and SAG awards. The whimsy pink Reem Acra princess cut dress would be a perfect fit for the quirky personality of Zooey Deschanel. The navy with an embellished top Naeem Khan dress would look stunning on best actress in a leading role nominee for “Silver Linings Playbook” actress Jennifer Lawrence. The golden embellishment on the Badgley Mischka dress would be accentuate the complexion and red hair of best actress in a leading role nominee for “Zero Dark Thirty” actress Jessica Chastain.

Bold Colors: Many stars chose to go bold with a bright red dress at the Golden Globes and SAG awards. The red Prabal Gurung dress with a side slit and cut-outs would be a standout at the Oscars. “Les Misérables” actress Amanda Seyfried is bold enough to pull off the stunning dress.
Mermaid Cut Dresses Another big trend during award show season, the purple Monique Lhuillier mermaid cut dress would look amazing on best actress in a leading role nominee Naomi Watts.
