On Friday, July 5th, the HamptonsFilm SummerDocs series screened Netflix’s documentary, “Skywalkers: A Love Story,” in partnership with Guild Hall of East Hampton. The event featured Co-Director Maria Bukhonina, Producer Tamir Ardon, HamptonsFilm Executive Director Anne Chaisson, Artistic Director David Nugent, Chairman Emeritus Alec Baldwin, and Guild Hall Executive Director Andrea Grover.
The film, a mix of romance and thriller, followed Angela and Vanya, a Russian daredevil couple, as they scaled the world’s tallest buildings and performed death-defying stunts. Directed by Emmy-winning filmmaker Jeff Zimbalist, “Skywalkers: A Love Story” documented their extreme climbing feats over six years and across six countries, showcasing the dangers and exhilaration of their new art form, “skywalking.”
