We caught up with founder and designer, Ramy Brook – who has a home in Water Mill, about her clothing line:
Can you speak a bit about how Ramy Brook came to fruition?
RB:I started Ramy Brook in 2010 after I was unable to find the perfect date night top. I had been searching everywhere for a silk shirt that was sexy, paired nicely with jeans and complimented my jewelry. It was nowhere to be found so I set out to create my vision. I realized that if I was feeling this void, other women must be as well. We launched the business out of my apartment with six tops and one dress and the rest is history. We are now a full-blown collection offering tops, bottoms, dresses, knits, leathers, jackets and cover-ups with more categories in the pipeline. We are headquartered in the Garment District with our flagship store in Soho. I am so proud and excited by all that is still to come.
Why should Hamptons locals look forward to Ramy Brook’s Fall collection?
RB: The Fall collection is gorgeous! It has great transitional pieces that you can wear while it is still warm out and then layer once the weather grows cooler. The collection is full of luxe details- bold embellishments, vivid colors and some really beautiful florals. The pieces can seamlessly take you from lunch al fresco to a cocktail party in the evening and everywhere in between.
What makes Ramy Brook pieces special in the ever-changing fashion industry?
RB: Everything at Ramy Brook, from our designs to how they make women feel, comes from an authentic place. We are our customer. I started the business after sensing a gap in my wardrobe, so I am constantly evaluating what else our consumer is looking for and how we can help her develop the best wardrobe possible. Our pieces are sophisticated and not driven by trends. The timeless styles will be staples in her closet for years to come.
