What is bound to be one of the cutest East End fashion shows is taking center stage at Hotel Indigo Long Island – East End in Riverhead.
Yorkie911 Rescue, Inc., a 501(c)3 non profit organization committed to rescuing and finding “fur-ever” homes for Yorkies and other toy breeds, will host its annual Pet Fashion Show on Sunday, October 14 from 12 to 5 p.m.
“Yorkie911 is putting on the dog at their 9th annual fundraising event Rescues Rock the Runway,” Mary Patmidis Goodrow of Yorkie911 explained.
The designs of longtime Yorkie911 Rescue supporter Julie Lancaster of Off the Cuff Stuff for Pets will be showcased on the runway.
In addition to featuring some of the most charming models out there (Yorkie911ers), Rescues Rock the Runway will include a delicious buffet, incredible raffles, contests, vendors and much more. Your fur baby is invited to make a special cameo by walking the runway as they don their interpretation of one of the Fashion Show’s three contest categories: Off The Rack (costumes from a pet retailer), Best Halloween Villain (think Michael Myers, Darth Vader, Freddy Kruger, Voldemort, Chucky, The Joker), or Day of the Dead.

There will also be a special appearance from celebrity guests actor Kyle Dean Massey, who has appeared in Broadway’s Wicked, Pippin and Next to Normal, as well as on Nashville, and actor Taylor Frey, who has appeared on Days of Our Lives and be seen in the upcoming IT Chapter Two, who will treat attendees to an exciting surprise.
The 2018 Rescues Rock the Runway will celebrate honoree Andrea Herrick who founded PRoud Rescuers of PR, an animal advocacy organization dedicated to saving the displaced and abandoned dogs and cats of Puerto Rico. The animal advocate also partners with many Long Island-based rescue groups.
Founded in July 2010, the North Babylon-based animal rescue’s mission is to find the family and home environment that is best suited for the needs of its rescued Yorkies and other small rescue dogs. The organization is also dedicated to raising awareness about the Yorkie breed and other small breed dogs.
Admission to Rescues Rock the Runway is $85 in advance and $100 at the door.
