With Halloween on the horizon, fitting in an extra pre-holiday workout or two is most likely a good idea, because who are we kidding, I’m just going to have one piece never really works out well. On Saturday, October 24th, the Sag Harbor Gym will host a series of three fitness classes to benefit the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation and The Retreat. The sessions are open to both gym members and non-members, with proceeds from the classes supporting the two East End non-profits.
“This is a fun and healthy way to support two important community organizations – The Retreat and the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation – while visiting the newly renovated Sag Harbor Gym,” said Maggie Goldfarb, Director of Development at The Retreat. “It’s perfect timing as October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Adopt-A-Shelter Dog Month. We will have WEHM live at the gym, raffle prizes and pet adoptions all morning.”
The workouts will kickoff with Cycling from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., and Body Pump will follow from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The final charity class is Zumba, taught by award-winning instructor Oscar Gonzalez, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear purple in support of Domestic Violence Awareness and visit with the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation cat and kitten adoptees, which will be on display during the morning.
Admission is $25 for 1 class, 2 classes for $40, or 3 classes for $60. Advanced registration is suggested but not required. To secure a spot, call 631-725-0707.
