Organic Krush, A Lifestyle Eatery, Gives Back to Long Island Safe Haven, Bethany House

It’s evident that businesses all over the world have been set back during the pandemic and restaurants included. Even though restaurants were deemed essential businesses, consumers were less likely to leave the safety of their homes and pick up food. Despite these challenges, Organic Krush of Amagansett has continued to strive to help their local community as much as possible. Co-Founders Michelle Walrath and Fran Paniccia have placed an enormous emphasis on giving back to others who are less fortunate and that includes working with Bethany House.

Organic Krush’s founders have one important mission through all of this: women taking care of women, women supporting women. They recognize that not everyone has the ability to shop and eating organically. In fact, some are fighting for their safety, especially during this pandemic when women are trapped with their abusers. Bethany House is a place women and children can take refuge. They believe that “each person deserves and needs adequate food, clothing, and shelter, provided in a nurturing and sustaining environment.” And that’s where Organic Krush comes in!

Walrath and Paniccia founded Organic Krush out of a desire to create really good and healthy food for their families. They each have several children and providing sustainable and organic food to them has always been a top priority. When the co-founders heard of Bethany House, they knew this was the perfect opportunity to help.

Organic Krush continues to help Bethany House in a multitude of ways. They have partnered with a Long Island grocery chain who has been and will continue to make significant contributions to the needs of these shelters. Organic Krush’s gourmet-to-go division of the business is dedicated towards raising money, which then will be donated via weekly gift cards for the shelters to use for their weekly food needs. Additionally, for every purchase of gourmet-to-go, Organic Krush will donate 15% of those sales directly to Bethany House.

Despite these challenging times for local businesses, Organic Krush is determined to continue helping others in need. The business’ selflessness and generosity continues to help dozens of local women and children.

“The welcome sign at the Bethany house says, ‘the place to go when there’s no place left to go.’ There are women and children who are suffering greatly during this time. Every ounce of motherhood spoke to us when we found out that the stay at home orders were making it that much more challenging for victims of domestic violence and abuse to find a safe haven. When we learned of the incredible empowering work that Bethany house does, we were all in … financially, emotionally and spiritually,” said Walrath and Paniccia.

Organic Krush has locations in Amagansett, Woodbury, Plainview, Roslyn, Rockville Center, and Short Pump, VA. They plan to open locations in Westport, CT, Greenwich, CT, and Stony Brook, NY soon.
