While The Surf Lodge has presented wellness programming for many years now, this summer they launched a new wellness destination, The Sanctuary.
We caught up with Jayma Cardoso, Owner of The Surf Lodge, to learn more.
What inspired the creation of The Sanctuary?
JC: From the beginning we’ve had Wellness as one of the pillars of the hospitality experience that we wanted to share with guests, and we both have a longtime connection to Montauk, so curating a Wellness experience for the town is very rewarding. So, in a way, Montauk is the inspiration, both its natural beauty and bounty is reflected in what we’re doing with The Sanctuary.
What sort of programming will the site welcome?
JC: We started the season out with Melissa Wood Health and will be working with Sarah Levy of Y7 Yoga, Torch’d by Isaac Calpito, Pvolve, Megan Roup, HOUSEWORK by Sydney Miller and The Class by Taryn Toomey in August. We also have a CBD panel series and Bobbi Brown coming in to speak about her new Evolution18 “Beauty from the Inside Out” wellness brand. Additionally, ABC Home will bring programming from their Deepak Homebase to The Sanctuary.
Will programming be open to the public, or just hotel guests?
JC: The Sanctuary is open to the public.
Will The Sancutary be open year-round?
JC: The Sanctuary will offer classes through early fall.
The Sanctuary is located at 716 Montauk Highway Suite #3 in Montauk.
