On Friday, August 21st and Saturday, August 22nd, Urban Zen is shining a spotlight on a special group of artists during Haiti in the Hamptons. The two-day event will allow East End shoppers to meet with Haitian artisans Caroline Sada, Chandler Busby, Karine Faubert Villard, Magalie Dresse and Paula Coles.

“I am honored to be partnering with Urban Zen because of the wonderful work that the Foundation and Parsons are doing in Haiti through the DOT program,” said Paula Coles, a Haiti in the Hamptons participant. “I have seen a new crop of artisans blossom in the program.”
Coles founded Paula | Coles, Haiti with the goal of providing education and the pledge of a brighter future for thousands of underprivileged children in Haiti. The brand also wants to care for our planet, and does so by creating items that use 100 percent of recycled fabric scraps from t-shirts manufacturing factories in Haiti. “I am so glad to be able to assist them in reaching their true potential, while helping to secure their futures,” shared Coles.
Donna Karan and Urban Zen have been teaming up with Haitian artisan communities to work together to build a sustainable model of philanthropy and commerce for years. A portion of proceeds from the sale of Haitian artisan products at the Sag Harbor store are used to further the Urban Zen Foundation’s Haitian initiatives, which include the Haitians Artisan Project and the DOT Program – Design, Organization, Training Center for Haiti Artisans.
Haiti in the Hamptons will take place on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7 p.m.
