Shop ‘Til You Drop This Memorial Day Weekend While You Support Animal Rescue Fund Of The Hamptons

As per usual, Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons (ARF) is kicking off the Hamptons summer season by holding its annual Designer Show House and Sale. Top interior decorators have been hard at work transforming the ARF Thrift & Treasure Shop into a designer show house, using furnishings from the shop and from their own collections. Every item in the ARF Designer Show House will be for sale and all proceeds will benefit the animals of ARF.

If you want to snag the best items before the show opens to the public, there will be an Exclusive Preview Hour on Saturday, May 27 at 5 p.m., followed by a Cocktail Reception from 6 to 8 p.m. The show will open to the public on Sunday, May 28 and Monday, May 29 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Now in its seventh year, the ARF Designer Show House is a great kick-off to the summer season!” said Lisa McCarthy, ARF Board President. “We salute the designers who have brought such creativity to their assignment, and look forward to seeing everyone.”

Show house designers include Rachael Ray Home, Irving & Fine for John Rosselli, Tamara Fraser of Worth Interiors, Cathy Kincaid of Cathy Kincaid Interiors, Inc., Richard Keith Langham, Jeff Lincoln Interiors, Inc., Kathryn’s Flower Gardens, Ann Pyne of McMillen Inc., and Iris Zonlight of Blue Ocean Design. The co-chairs for the event are Gordon H Hoppe, Gigi Mahon, Alex Papachristidis, and Marshall Watson.

“Most designer show houses are just about looking; what sets the ARF show house apart from the others is the fact that all of the merchandise is for sale to benefit the animals,” said Jennifer Rockford, Director of Philanthropy at ARF. “For those that are truly interested in buying, we strongly suggest you attend the 5 p.m. Cocktail Party Preview Hour.”

Over 200 guests from the design world and the Hampton social community are expected to attend the Preview Cocktail Party, where guests will enjoy wine donated by Channing Daughters Winery, hors d’oeuvres by Fig & Pig, and receive samples of Blue Buffalo.

ARF actively rescues cats and dogs, providing them with quality care and protection until their forever homes can be found. Founded in 1974, ARF helps place over 1,000 cats and dogs in homes each year. The Adoption Center is located on 22 acres of wooded land in Wainscott, including three open catteries with screened-in porches, a kennel with 48 indoor dog runs, 12 spacious outdoor runs, and a fully equipped medical wing with operating rooms, nurseries, and quarantine holding rooms. There are full time veterinarian and vet technicians on staff, and most animals that are brought to Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons come from high kill control centers, from people who can no longer care for their pets or are rescued from puppy mills.

Tickets to the Exclusive Preview Hour are $250, tickets to the Cocktail Reception are $150, and on Saturday and Sunday there is a suggested donation of $10 upon entry.
