Prepare For The New Year With These New Year’s Eve Beauty Musts

New Year’s Eve is definitely a marathon, not a sprint, so plan your skincare and makeup accordingly – because you don’t want 9 p.m. to roll around and you need a full on touch up.

Looking for some va va voom volume? Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Shampoo utilizes black sesame and grapefruit to purify lackluster, fine hair without stripping nourishing essentials, resulting in lightweight body that lasts, while Biolage R.A.W. Uplift Conditioner ($25 each, www.matrix.com) boosts body with kiwi and kaolin clay, which weightlessly condition for the ultimate lift.

Has this cold front left your complexion a mess? Add some subtle glow with L’Oréal Paris True Match Lumi Collection’s Glow Armour Illuminating Drops ($14.99, www.lorealparisusa.com), a custom highlighting pigment that can be mixed with face cream, makeup, or foundation, depending on your desired level of dewiness.

Blue Lagoon Iceland Mineral Mask, Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mist, Gallany Lustrous Facial Mist, Babor Glow Booster Bi-Phase Ampoule (top), and Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches. (Courtesy Photos)

Prone to under eye bags? Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench Hyaluronic Cloud Hydra-Gel Eye Patches ($52, www.peterthomasroth.com) is a must for the next day. Hyaluronic Acid, Caffeine, Ceramide 3, and Collagen provide instant relief that de-puffs, hydrates, plumps, and tones.

Another quick way to boost radiance is The Body Shop Instaglow CC Cream ($22, www.thebodyshop.com), which comes in a bright glow, peachy glow and warm glow. Use pre-foundation as a primer that illuminates, reduces pore appearance and shine, and provides a full day’s worth of moisture.

Plan on a DIY mani? Add some sparkle with Love OPI, XOXO Collection in Coalmates ($10.50 www.opi.com), which is available at Ulta, a versatile metallic charcoal that will match any outfit.

For lush lashes, swipe on GrandeMascara ($25, www.sephora.com), which is made up of a formula that not only makes lashes look more voluminous right away, but it’s award winning lash serum also enhances length over time.

Retrouvé Skin Brilliance Priming Pads. (Courtesy Photo)

Before you start your skincare routine, prep with Retrouvé Skin Brilliance Priming Pads ($65, www.retrouve.com), which feature AHAs and panthenol that exfoliate and leave skin glowing.

For a more natural lip shade with just a hint of shine, try Mary Kay Gel Semi-Shine Lipstick in Naturally Buff ($18, www.marykay.com). This long-lasting option features a highly pigmented formula that brings the wow without drying out lips.

Not a fan out waiting around as your mask does its skincare magic? With Goldfaden Fresh A Peel Multi Acid Resurfacing Peel ($85, goldfadenmd.com) you only have to wait one minute before this peel makes a major impact by exfoliating, improving skin texture, brightens and shrinks pore size.

After sipping on champagne, you’re not going to want to keep having to apply lip color all night. IsaDora’s Twist Up Matte in Raving Red ($14, www.walgreens.com), available at Walgreens, offers a pop of color that doesn’t fade after each sip. The formula is infused with moisturizing ingredients that won’t dry out your pout when it’s time to touch up.

Bummed you haven’t escaped the cold for a tropical locale? Fake a golden flow with Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mist ($24 , www.bondisands.com). Available in light/medium and dark, the easy to apply mist appears light when first applied, but turns into an enviable golden tan that will have people wondering what fabulous warm spot you’ve been to.

Fake a facial with a Doctor Babor Glow Booster Bi-Phase Ampoule ($109, babor.com). This skincare elixir combines vitamin C, extracts of seabuckthorn and bistorta root, and α-tocopherol, providing a nourishing formula that leaves skin velvety, but not oily, and luminous.

I PEKAR Tissue Repair Serum Infused with CBD OIL and Keratin Complex Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder. (Courtesy Photos)

When you look in the mirror and realize your hairdo could use a refresher, break out the Keratin Complex Volumizing Dry Shampoo Lift Powder ($35, www.keratincomplex.com) for an instant boost of body.

Have some free time? Might as well beautify with the Blue Lagoon Iceland Mineral Mask ($115, bluelagoon.com) as you hang out. Leave it on for 10 to 20 minutes, and you’ll come away with seriously moisturized face. The mask, which is made from the Blue Lagoon’s mineral-rich geothermal seawater, can also be left on overnight, for those really looking to start the prep party early.

Lacking in the brow department? Palladio Beauty Brow Obsessed Mousse with Fibers ($8, www.palladiobeauty.com) will easily and instantly fix that. The formula features fibers in a lightweight mousse texture that creates a natural or more dramatic (if you want) look.

Naked Princess 24K Love Dust. (Courtesy Photo)

On NYE, sparkle is a must. Naked Princess 24K Love Dust ($60, nakedprincess.com) is made from real 24K gold flakes – yes you read that right, aloe leaf and cucumber extract, so not only does it bring the bling, but it also nourishes skin. And, it’s unique mix of vanilla musk, exotic citrus and eastern florals smells amazing.

When your complexion looks like it’s in desperate need of a pick me up, don’t plan on starting from scratch. Just break out Gallany Lustrous Facial Mist ($22, gallany.com), spritz a few times and it’ll look like you just applied your makeup.

Brown & Coconut Hibiscus Cleansing Grains. (Courtesy Photo)

If you have plans on New Year’s Day and New Year’s Eve festivities have taken a noticeable toll on your skin, brighten and tighten with the Brown & Coconut Hibiscus Cleansing Grains ($19, www.inthepursuitstudio.com). The “antioxident powerhouse” is a breeze to use – you just wet your face, pour a bit onto your wet hand and wash your face. You can also use it as a mask by mixing it with a few drops of water or honey, massaging onto wet skin and then leaving it for 20 minutes.

For serious moisture, add a drop or two of I PEKAR Tissue Repair Serum Infused with CBD OIL ($148, ildipekar.com) to clean skin. Made from 100 percent natural ingredients, this serum addresses tissue repair as it hydrates.

  • From Hollywood red carpets to Milan exhibits and Hamptons fashion shoots, Filbert Kung has photographed the world—but it’s his quiet, unguarded, and attentive nature that reveals the artist behind the lens. @filbert_kung

I met Filbert Diego Kung at a Grey/Ven fashion event in Amagansett last summer. He’s one of those rare photographers who instantly puts you at ease—calm, composed, and naturally good at making anyone feel like they belong in front of his lens. Had I known then just how in-demand Filbert is in the fashion and photography world, I probably wouldn’t have asked him to snap a few shots of me goofing off on the red carpet. But maybe that makes me a model? Either way, it was my first glimpse of how effortlessly he captures people as they are. In my case, goofy-but-make-it-chic.

Since then, I’ve seen him popping up around the Hamptons, often between flights to LA, Miami, or wherever the next big editorial or campaign takes him. Originally from the Philippines, Filbert has spent over fifteen years building a career that bridges Hollywood red carpets, high-fashion editorials, and fine art portraiture.

Saunders Exclusive: $7,250,000

At the bend of Huntting Lane in East Hampton Village, a remarkably restored Queen Anne Victorian—now offered for sale—stands as impressive as it is improbable.

Built in 1896 by James Edward Huntting and held by his family for over a century, the estate is a masterclass in American craftsmanship—built to endure and beautifully restored. Graceful gables, revived millwork, and preserved character bridge Gilded Age ambition, Hamptons high society, and highlight the enduring power of community in the Village.

Here, history feels alive—not in signs of wear, but rather in the lack thereof, a testament to the care that has returned the home to its original glory. Every detail has been honored, presenting a rare historic gem ready for its next chapter.

  • Every year at the Hamptons International Film Festival, there is a film that captures the local East End experience. This year, many believe that film is ON THE END, written and directed by Ari Selinger. In a half-hour Zoom call, Ari Selinger shared the story of how his debut writer-director indie-drama film came about.

He said, “I was location scouting all over New York, and I found myself on Navy Road (Montauk) back in 2011 with my production designer friend. We were two 20-year-old film students (NYU) looking for a shoddy auto repair shop that we could use to shoot a film. There I met this guy, Tom, in front of his very dirty property. He was fixing a car. He came up to the window and not only told us about numerous people to talk to… he just knew all these names, and he just seemed to be a resource. He’d always be whispering in my ear about this thing he was going through with the town, about this battle, about him trying to keep his house. And it totally went over my head at the time. I did not know very much about zoning laws and property values, and maybe I was a little bit cavalier about it, but back in 2016, there was a big piece in the New York Times on his story.”

  • Sag Harbor resident, actor, writer, and teacher Josh Pais has spent decades exploring what it means to be fully present—on screen and in life. Known for his roles in Joker, Ray Donovan, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and many others, he has more than 150 film and television credits to his name. He has now turned his focus inward with his new memoir, Lose Your Mind: The Path to Creative Invincibility, which was released on September 30, 2025.

Drawing on his years of experience as founder of the Committed Impulse training method, Josh offers readers a bold invitation to release self-judgment, lean into all feelings, and connect with the spontaneous energy that fuels authentic creativity. His message—both playful and profound—challenges the myth of “good” and “bad” emotions and instead celebrates the full spectrum of human experience.

Josh will visit Sag Harbor for a reading and book signing this Sunday, October 12th from 4:00–5:30 p.m. at Grenning Gallery (26 Main Street, Sag Harbor).
