Last week Hampton Hills Country Club in Westhampton Beach hosted a PGA sanctioned Pro-Am that included club members and pros from a dozen PGA Metropolitan Section member golf clubs.
One of the jewels of East End golf, Hampton Hills is a stunning course nestled in a 2,000 acre nature preserve. A challenging 209 acre course with dramatic elevation changes, Hamptons Hills has earned a 73.6 rating with a slope of 139. Hampton Hills PGA Head Professional is Jack McGown who, along with General Manager Stanley Pine, made sure the event went off without a hitch.

The tournament’s title sponsor was the Lincoln Motor Car Company and attendees had the opportunity to test drive some the company’s beautiful American made luxury cars. The presenting sponsor was the Mohegan Sun Resort & Casino.
The format for the Lincoln Pro-Am was One Best Ball Gross of 4 and One Best Ball Net of 4 (80% of course handicap). There were also best scores for individual professionals with cash prizes for the professionals and gift certificate prizes for amateurs redeemable at their home golf shop. The low combined gross and net team was invited to the Mohegan Sun Tournament of Champions in the fall. The team from Sands Point Golf Club took the day with one of the Hampton Hill’s team tying for fourth place.
The outing included a continental breakfast and lunch in the beautiful clubhouse at Hamptons Hills with prizes and giveaways supplied by Lincoln. Despite the chilly weather and overcast skies, it was great day of golf at one the East End’s premiere courses.
