LTV Studios: A Dynamic Arts Destination with an Exciting Fall Lineup

It has been said that LTV is a hidden resource that is now bursting onto the Hamptons scene as a dynamic, programming, entertaining arts Mecca. With an enthusiastic rebirth under the direction of  Michael D. Clark, LTV’s Executive Director, there has been live theater at LTV Studios, where the talents of Creative Director Josh Gladstone have been utilized. Yes, the very building tucked away by the East Hampton Airport that hosted the live local cable TV programming has successfully metamorphosized into so much more.

LTV  is available for more than just local broadcast coverage and public access channels that have served the East End dutifully for decades. It is now a vibrant center for media, communications, and the arts. In that spirit, LTV Producer Antoinette Lanza shared her thoughts with Hamptons.com about some of the Fall Programming. She said, “Building off of the inspiring momentum this summer, LTV is so excited to continue our celebrated series of “The Playwrights’ Theater.” She continued by saying that  “The Playwrights’ Theater” is a series for theater lovers and artists that focuses on acting, writing, and the spoken word. Then she spoke about the “The East End Underground.”   Ms. Lanza said this is “…  an outlet for emerging composers, vocalists, soloists, ensembles, bands and singer-songwriters with their hearts and sentiments embedded in the changing Long Island sound of today. Also, there is the “The Mannix Show,”  she said, “a slightly off-the-cuff humorous Talk Show covering an array of art topics with a list of riveting East End guests, including fine artists, gallerists, curators, performers, and other cultural folk as well as other fabulous one of kind shows such as “Courting the Jester” A Musical Salute to Danny Kaye, and other fun events throughout the fall Season.”

Last April, there was a phenomenal presentation of The Pillowman, a play by Martin McDonagh, presented at the LTV Studios in East Hampton. It was well received and earned a full-throttle standing ovation. That show was directed by east-end icon Stephen Hamilton and produced by LTV’s Josh Gladstone along with Kassar Productions in association with LTV Studios.

Ms. Lanza pointed out that, “We have curated an extremely well-rounded offering of programs that we are incredibly proud of!  Not only does LTV Studios produce these riveting and affordable shows for the community, but we stay true to our core non-profit mission of public broadcasting by filming  and airing them on our local cable access channels as well as streaming on our website and YouTube channel, enabling not only the east end but all of the internet to be entertained and engaged with our community.”

That last summer LTV’s Studio’s Hamptons Summer Songbook Series became the Cabaret’s new home in the Hamptons. There were eight scheduled live successful shows at LTV Studio in Wainscott.

Coming to LTV  on October 13th will be, “Drag Bingo,“ presented by  Our Fabulous Variety Show (OFVS) that is a non-profit 501(c)3 performance and arts education organization that produces productions from full scale to showcase, and provides educational performing arts programming to the community. Founded in 2010 by Anita Boyer and Kasia Klimiuk. The OSVS showcases and provides educational performing arts programming to the community.

Starting at 5:00 p.m. at the LTV studios in EH , “Drag Bingo,“ will be hosted by OFVS drag queens RaffaShow and Julia Von Cartier. This event is panned to be “a family friendly evening of bingo, walking tacos, amazing prizes and pop up drag performances.“

Like all LTV programming the night is affordable! Tickets are $25 and that will include 3 bingo cards, with additional cards available for purchase throughout the event. There will be wonderful concession snacks, wine, and beer, and tacos will be available for purchase as well.

There will also be VIP cabaret tables for $200 per table (seats 4.) This option will include come with a snazzy VIP gift bag filled with fabulous goodies and TWICE the Bingo cards per person. LTV Studios is located at 75 Industrial Road in Wainscott. Tickets for all events can be purchased at https://www.ltveh.org

Divaria Productions Revives Puccini's Classic: A Celebratory Performance of 'Madame Butterfly' at Bay Street Theater

  • I recently toured the new Rolex Boutique by London Jewelers in East Hampton, and it’s one of the most beautiful retail spaces I’ve ever stepped into. Located on Newtown Lane, the boutique is set inside a restored historic home that dates back to 1897, originally designed as a summer cottage.

From the outside, it has that classic East Hampton charm, cedar shingles, white trim, and lush landscaping. But once you step inside, it’s all about quiet sophistication.

The space is warm and welcoming, with walnut wood paneling, soft neutral tones, and beautiful textures throughout. There’s a fluted marble wall in a rich green Verdi Alpi stone that immediately catches your eye. It’s one of those details that’s understated but unmistakably Rolex.

  • Although Mavericks has only been open for two years, it has quickly become a Montauk staple beloved by locals and summer vacationers. Under the helm of Executive Chef and Montauk local Jeremy Blutstein, Mavericks stands out in the Hamptons restaurant scene with large-format dishes, sunset views, and an elegant ambiance marked by an exclusive contemporary art collection.

Hamptons.com caught up with Jeremy to talk about his favorite dish, Mavericks’ menu, and his go-to lunch spot.

When did you first realize you wanted to be a chef?

I wouldn’t say there was a defining moment when I knew I wanted to be a chef. I do know that the first time I worked in a restaurant, I was hooked on the whole experience. I was a teenager at The Farmhouse Restaurant in East Hampton (which is now Moby’s). The structure within the chaos was intoxicating, and we had to make everything happen because there was no other option. Thriving in those high-stress environments was like a drug.

What’s your favorite dish to cook and why?

I don’t come from a cooking family, so I don’t have any go-to Grandma’s recipes or food traditions. I’ve always been drawn to what’s available at the moment. I grew up with my very dear friend Alex Balsam (from Balsam Farms in Amagansett), who has been obsessed with farming as far back as our 35-year friendship began. He taught me where and who our food comes from. I’m also a big believer in the old “keep it simple stupid” mantra. Honest ingredients seasoned well and cooked with honest intentions.
