It has been said that LTV is a hidden resource that is now bursting onto the Hamptons scene as a dynamic, programming, entertaining arts Mecca. With an enthusiastic rebirth under the direction of Michael D. Clark, LTV’s Executive Director, there has been live theater at LTV Studios, where the talents of Creative Director Josh Gladstone have been utilized. Yes, the very building tucked away by the East Hampton Airport that hosted the live local cable TV programming has successfully metamorphosized into so much more.
LTV is available for more than just local broadcast coverage and public access channels that have served the East End dutifully for decades. It is now a vibrant center for media, communications, and the arts. In that spirit, LTV Producer Antoinette Lanza shared her thoughts with Hamptons.com about some of the Fall Programming. She said, “Building off of the inspiring momentum this summer, LTV is so excited to continue our celebrated series of “The Playwrights’ Theater.” She continued by saying that “The Playwrights’ Theater” is a series for theater lovers and artists that focuses on acting, writing, and the spoken word. Then she spoke about the “The East End Underground.” Ms. Lanza said this is “… an outlet for emerging composers, vocalists, soloists, ensembles, bands and singer-songwriters with their hearts and sentiments embedded in the changing Long Island sound of today. Also, there is the “The Mannix Show,” she said, “a slightly off-the-cuff humorous Talk Show covering an array of art topics with a list of riveting East End guests, including fine artists, gallerists, curators, performers, and other cultural folk as well as other fabulous one of kind shows such as “Courting the Jester” A Musical Salute to Danny Kaye, and other fun events throughout the fall Season.”
Last April, there was a phenomenal presentation of The Pillowman, a play by Martin McDonagh, presented at the LTV Studios in East Hampton. It was well received and earned a full-throttle standing ovation. That show was directed by east-end icon Stephen Hamilton and produced by LTV’s Josh Gladstone along with Kassar Productions in association with LTV Studios.
Ms. Lanza pointed out that, “We have curated an extremely well-rounded offering of programs that we are incredibly proud of! Not only does LTV Studios produce these riveting and affordable shows for the community, but we stay true to our core non-profit mission of public broadcasting by filming and airing them on our local cable access channels as well as streaming on our website and YouTube channel, enabling not only the east end but all of the internet to be entertained and engaged with our community.”
That last summer LTV’s Studio’s Hamptons Summer Songbook Series became the Cabaret’s new home in the Hamptons. There were eight scheduled live successful shows at LTV Studio in Wainscott.
