For William Ris Gallery’s latest exhibition, the Jamesport-based gallery will showcase a selection work from The Full Moon Arts Collective artists.
“William Ris Gallery is excited to partner with Full Moon Arts Collective to bring paintings, photographs, sculptures and mixed-media works by this talented group of artists to our clientele on the North Fork and beyond,” Mary Cantone, William Ris Gallery owner, shared.
The Full Moon Arts Collective was established in 2005 by artist Ronnie Weiner, with the goal of providing a collaborative environment where artists of varying mediums could learn from each other as they create innovative pieces. In 2018, Ronnie, along with artist Anna Jurinich, welcomed a new group of East End artists to the East Moriches-based collective.
FullMoon@WilliamRis encompasses paintings, photographs, collage, sculpture and mixed media artworks. Featured artists include painters Peter Beston, Gina Gilmour, Jane Kirkwood, Elizabeth Malunowicz and Ronnie Weiner; photographer Mike McLaughlin; collagist Steve Palumbo; Sculptors Jonathan Pearlman and Giampaulo Fallai; Mixed Media artist Valerie Zeman; and lens-based artist Robert Moore.
“This is the first collaboration of this kind for both groups and we’ve been thrilled by the early response to the exhibit,” Cantone noted.
William Ris Gallery and Full Moon Arts Collective will host Artist Talks at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, Saturday, May 8, and Saturday, May 15. A Closing Reception will take place on Saturday, May 22 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
“We’re all looking forward to further engagement with the artists and their work next month in a series of covid-safe artist talks and a closing reception,” Cantone added.
FullMoon@WilliamRis is on view from Saturday, April 17 through Sunday, May 23.
