Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is holding its 4th annual Spring Benefit, Curtain Up! on Monday, May 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. The event, which will take place at Joe’s Pub in New York City, will honor Barbara Slifka and Patty and Jay Baker. Bay Street’s Artistic Director Scott Schwartz will host the benefit.
The evening will feature a cocktail reception and a show, which will include a preview of this summer’s Mainstage Season production program and a tribute to the honorees. The sneak peak will feature the World Premiere of “The New Sincerity,” a comedy by Alena Smith, to be directed by Bob Balaban, “Grey Gardens, The Musical,” adapted from the book by Doug Wright, with music by Scott Frankel, lyrics by Michael Korie, and directed by Michael Wilson.
Past honorees include Joy Behar, David Bray, Adrianne Cohen, Ana Daniel, John Downing, Bonnie Comley and Stewart Lane.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Theater’s many programs. Tickets begin at $150.
