Southampton Historical Museum is hosting their annual Halsey House Gala on Saturday, July 11th from 6 to 8 p.m. This year’s summer benefit, “Celebrate Southampton’s Oldest Home,” pays tribute to Hamptons Village’s milestone birthday.
A fun, unique East End event that mixes local history with new traditions, the Halsey House Gala has been quoted as “the most fun you will have all summer.”
“Celebrate Southampton’s Oldest Home” will honor the 1640 founding of Southampton’s Thomas Halsey Homestead and also celebrate the 375th anniversary of Southampton.
Taking place in the gardens of the historic Thomas Halsey Homestead, the entertaining lawn party is open to all. Attendees will enjoy farm-to-table hors d’oeuvres by chef Kyle Scheurer at Schmidt’s Market, locally sourced raw clams and oysters, Halsey House signature cocktails, and a live auction featuring regional artists, vendors, and restaurants. The evening will also include costumed re-enactors, dressed as colonial militia and wenches, to entertain guests by telling jokes and fortunes.
Tickets are $125 in advance and $150 at the door.
The Thomas Halsey Homestead is located at 249 South Main Street in Southampton. For more information, call 631-283-2494 or visit www.southamptonhistoricalmuseum.org.
