The Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation (MPCCF) will host its annual Summer Gala on Saturday, August 1st. From 7 to 11 p.m., guests are invited to the Montauk Playhouse Community Center for an evening of dinner, dancing, drinks, music by Montauk’s The Nancy Atlas Project, and live and silent auctions.
The evening will pay tribute to the many artists that call Montauk home, who bring such a lively culture and colorful character to The End. “We have such a great event planned, and we’re thrilled to honor the many visual and performing artists who call Montauk home at this year’s Gala,” said Maureen Rutkowski, Project Director at Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation. “Live bidding on our online auction of artwork and items from our more than 70 supporting artists is open for all to take part in— whether you attend the Gala or not. The auction site also includes great items from our Live Auction, that will take place at the Gala!”
Gala attendees and MPCCF supporters can get a sneak preview of the live and silent auctions during a pop-up Art Gallery and Auction. The Art Gallery (located on the 2nd floor of 478 West Lake Drive (at the docks, behind Ben & Jerry’s) in Montauk) will be open daily, from 4 to 7 p.m., through Thursday, July 30th. The exhibit showcases original works of art, items such as signed manuscripts, and unique cultural experiences like studio tours and movie premiere tickets, from over 70 artists. All featured items are part of the auction and have been donated by the supporting artists, including Edward Albee, Raphael Mazzucco, Julian Schnabel and Aida Turturro.
