On Saturday, July 9th, Bay Street Theater is rolling out the red carpet for its 25th Annual Summer Gala.
“We are so excited to be celebrating 25 years at this year’s gala,” expressed Tracy Mitchell, Executive Director, Bay Street Theater. “It was a dream that Emma, Steve, and Sybil dreamt, and many thousands of people have helped to make and to keep it a wonderful reality for the community ever since.”
Taking place on the Long Wharf in Sag Harbor, come ready to celebrate, party, and dance during the festivities, which will showcase snippets from handpicked previous Bay Street Productions, as well as a 25th Anniversary Film Tribute and much more. Additionally, the Gala will feature special appearances by Richard Kind, who will serve as Celebrity Auctioneer, Gala Emcee B.D. Wong, Alec Baldwin, Jason Alexander, Josh Grisetti and Harris Yulin.
The soiree will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a VIP Cocktail Reception. The Awards Presentation and Performance at the Theater will follow from 6 to 7:30 p.m., and the evening will culminate with cocktails, a Live “Fantasy Auction,” and dinner under the tent.
During the Gala, Bay Street will pay tribute to founding Board member and patrons Adrianne and Jerry Cohen, Bay Street’s founders Emma Walton-Hamilton and Steve Hamilton, and founding supporter Patrick Malloy III. Christine Wächter-Campbell and William Campbell are this year’s Chairs, with Arlene and Alan Alda as Honorary Chairs.
“It certainly will be the best party Bay Street has ever hosted,” added Mitchell.
Since its early days as a munitions factory, a roller rink, and night club, Bay Street has had an impressive transformation.
“So hard to believe it’s been 25 years since we were scrubbing bathrooms, painting walls, hanging lights and installing theatre seats,” explained co-founder Stephen Hamilton, “… all while our first production, Men’s Lives, was being loaded onto the newly built stage!”
Its “can do” spirit has helped the Sag Harbor-based theater triumph and continue to provide year-round programming, including the Mainstage Productions, Literature Live!, the New Works Festival, Comedy Club, music programming, Children’s theater camps, College Internship Program and much more.
Tickets begin at $1,250, with Young Professionals (21-years-old to 40-years-old) tickets available for $425.
