In anticipation of the third annual Trunks of Love Gala later this summer, Veterinarians International will hold a kick-off reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 at The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton. Hosted by Baker House proprietor Antonella Bertello, the evening will feature wines provided by Wolffer Estate Vineyard, cocktails by Palm Bay International Inc., and hors d’oeuvres prepared by Gourmet Garage.
“We are so excited to kick-off our Trunks of Love Gala this Saturday, June 10,” shared Dr. Scarlett Magda, Veterinarians International Founder & President. “We will be honoring Dr. Jane Goodall, Cornelia Guest and Penni Ludwig this August for their outstanding commitment to animal health and welfare.”
The celebratory soiree will provide partygoers with an opportunity to learn more about Veterinarians International’s lifesaving efforts while enjoying an entertaining evening out. “Come and enjoy cocktails and light fare, meet our vets and ambassadors, and learn about the important work we are doing around the world,” added Dr. Magda.
The third annual Trunks of Love Gala will be held on Friday, August 11 at Dopo La Spiaggia in East Hampton. Katie Cleary of World Animal News with Emmy nominated actor Dwayne Hill and The Arrangement star Christine Evangelista will host the soiree, which will pay tribute to Dr. Jane Goodall, who is considered to be the world’s foremost expert on chimpanzees; Cornelia Guest, a spokesperson for animal rights and creator of a line of cruelty-free handbags, vegan catering company and animal rescue sanctuary; and Penni Ludwig, who funded Veterinarians International’s two mobile elephant clinics. The evening will include interactive exhibits by wildlife conservationist and artist Asher Jay, dinner presented by Dopo La Spiaggia’s Chef Maurizio Marfoglia, a silent auction that will feature items such as a trip to Thailand with Dr. Magda to visit Veterinarians International’s Asian Elephant Vet Care Program, a $10,000 value and artwork from Alexis Rockman and Paul Gerben, and much more.
